Carline thistles (Carlina) are lime-loving, thistle-like plants from the daisy family. Their involucral bracts open and close depending on the humidity in the air.
Two species are particularly widespread in Central Europe: the stemless carline thistle (Carlina acaulis) and the common carline thistle (Carlina vulgaris).

For preparing a tea infusion.
Dosage / Method of administration
Loose tea: Use 1.5-3 g of the finely cut or coarsely powdered herb with 150 ml of cold water, boil for about 10 minutes and strain through a tea sieve. Drink as a rinse 1-3 times daily.
Alternatively, boil 30 g of the herb in 1 litre of water for 10 minutes.
Filter bag: Place 1 tea bag in 150 ml of cold water, boil for about 10 minutes and then strain or allow to infuse as required.

Store protected from light and moisture.
