Composition

Method of administration
For drinking after preparing a tea infusion.
Dosage / Method of administration
Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (including the elderly): Single dose: 2-4 g (approx. 1-2 heaped tablespoons) of nettle leaves.
Preparation of the tea infusion: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over the recommended amount of nettle leaves, cover and, if desired, strain through a tea sieve after about 10-15 minutes.
Daily dose: 3-6 times daily. The total daily dose should not exceed 8-12 g (approx. 4-6 heaped tablespoons) of nettle leaves.
Ensure an additional plentiful intake of fluids.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to nettle leaves. Water retention (oedema) caused by impaired heart and/or kidney function. Recommended reduction of fluid intake due to existing illnesses.
Precautions for use and warnings
Flushing the urinary tract: If complaints persist for longer than one week or recur periodically, or if they worsen, or if symptoms such as fever, pain when urinating, cramping pain, acute urinary retention or blood in the urine occur, a doctor must be consulted.
Use for mild joint pain: In acute conditions, for example those accompanied by redness, swelling or overheating of joints, as well as persistent or periodically recurring complaints, a doctor must be consulted immediately.
Children: Due to insufficient data, use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been sufficiently investigated. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is therefore not recommended.
Interactions with other medicines
None known.
Duration of use
Flushing the urinary tract: Not longer than 2-4 weeks.
Use for mild joint pain: Not longer than 4 weeks.
Side effects
Mild gastrointestinal complaints (e.g. nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea) and skin reactions (e.g. itching, rash, hives) may occur.
