In late summer, the large blossoms of hibiscus brighten many gardens. Most people know it mainly as an ornamental plant or perhaps as a natural colouring for fruit teas, because hibiscus blossoms give tea a vivid red colour.
In traditional folk medicine, especially in Africa, hibiscus is also used for a wide range of complaints.
